The Gazebo is one of Maui’s best places to get macadamia nut pancakes. Not only does this restaurant serve fantastic pancakes and other breakfast foods, but it’s also located directly on the beach. They even offer outdoor seating where you can enjoy the salty morning breeze as you enjoy a delicious breakfast.

The macadamia nut pancakes are certainly a draw to this restaurant, but there are also several other fantastic dishes, like:

  • Any pancakes served with coconut syrup.
  • Fried rice.
  • Breakfast burritos.
  • Omelets.

Each dish on their menu is fantastic. That said, the restaurant is best known for its pancakes. The joint offers a large variety of pancakes with different toppings and syrups

Along with your pancakes, you can also order a glass of fresh juice, be it orange, tomato, or pineapple. I personally recommend ordering their Pog, a drink that is a blend of passion fruit, orange juice, and guava.

The Gazebo is located near the Napili Bay Beach Trail. This trail is heavily trafficked, but it offers a stunning view of the beach, even though it only runs for about 0.4 miles (0.64 km).

It’s important to note that The Gazebo is extremely busy, and wait times can be upwards of an hour. Additionally, because of how busy the restaurant is, they don’t have a website, and dining is first come, first serve, with no provision for making reservations, unfortunately.

As such, if you don’t like waiting, I’d recommend dropping by during the later hours for brunch.

2. 808 Grindz Cafe

Another fantastic option for great macadamia nut pancakes is 808 Grindz Cafe. This cafe is a favorite amongst tourists and locals due to the extensive menu of authentic Hawaiian breakfast options. Additionally, this restaurant has three different locations throughout the Hawaiian islands.

What sets Grindz macadamia nut pancakes apart from others on the island is the creamy macadamia nut glaze that encases them. It’s creamy, rich, titillating, flavourful, and just plain out delicious.

Some other favorite dishes they serve include:

  • Loco Moco.
  • Eggs Benedict.
  • Ube pancakes.
  • Poke.

Grindz prides itself on delicious food and is famous for its diverse pancakes and loco moco. So if you happen to be in the area, you should try them – but keep in mind that they can experience 1-2 hour wait times, especially during peak tourist season. However, you can always call ahead to ensure your order gets out more quickly.

There are not many options in terms of beverages. Grindz likes to keep things simple by serving just soda or water. However, the food is so intensely flavorful you really won’t miss a fun drink.

808 Grindz Cafe is a short drive from the beach and Maui’s Front Street. Additionally, the Wo Hing Temple Museum is only a few blocks away if you enjoy history. The museum is the perfect activity after a good meal.

The next best option for excellent macadamia nut pancakes is Kihei Caffe. This restaurant has been serving delicious food to the locals since 1998. In fact, Kihei has some of the most delicious Hawaiian-style breakfast foods on the island.

Some of their best dishes include:

  • Eggs Benedict.
  • Loco Moco.
  • Macadamia nut french toast.
  • Macadamia nut waffles.

You can’t go wrong when selecting a dish from Kihei. They do a fantastic job with sweet breakfast foods like waffles and pancakes. Plus, the macadamia nut syrup is to die for.

Kihei has a more extensive drink menu than the other restaurants on this list, including several different types of coffee, tea, soda, and juices.

The restaurant’s location is just across the street from Kalama Park, a vast stretch of green park that runs along the beach. This stunning place is perfect for an after-breakfast stroll.

Along with great pancakes, Duke’s also serves dishes like:

  • Hula pie.
  • Avocado toast.
  • Loco Moco.
  • Omelets.

It’s important to note that Duke’s isn’t strictly a breakfast joint and is a “proper” restaurant where you can also get lunch and dinner. However, macadamia nut pancakes are only available during breakfast hours.

For drinks, you can choose from an array of fruit smoothies and juices. Other than that, you can also have the option of coffee, a bloody mary, or a mimosa.

Dukes is located on Ka’anapali Beach. A stunning beach perfect for walking barefoot along after a hearty macadamia nut pancake.
