Churches in Saint Lucia
Local churches readily welcome visitors to their services and events. Saint Lucia is a predominately Roman Catholic nation, with 67.5% of the population belonging to the Church.
Each community of modest size has a Catholic church that was generally designed and built by the people in that area, resulting in a very interesting array of architecture and decorum. The older churches, in particular are very interesting to visit for a service or general enjoyment.
Other denominations include Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Seventh Day Adventist, Evangelical, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Church of the Later Day Saints, and Pentecostal.
Services are held on Saturday and Sunday, while many churches also hold midweek services.
Information on services is available at hotels; a listing of individual local churches is found in the Saint Lucian phonebook.
